After graduating from high school and getting his university degree Dan Russell (from Boston Massachusetts USA) played guitar and sang in clubs in Bermuda, the Caribbean and London settling in London in the early 80’s. In that time he played and sang in clubs, bars, did session guitar and vocal work and also began his voice over work doing animation, commercials for and TV radio, documentary, and BBC radio all the while performing live in the evening.

The animation voice work took off.

In the mid 90’s Dan helped to form “Character Development Ltd”. The company cast, and produced voices for animation. (many of these shows saw Dan acting as well.)

More importantly Dan was voice directing. The company did some nice work and by 2018 had run its course. Dan continues as passionately as ever to do voice over work, and freelance voice direction work, music composition for animation, casting, and script polishing.

Some of his more notable animation work includes voicing 11 characters in “The Amazing World Of Gumball”, “Peppa Pig”, and “The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” (14 books) for Penguin. Dan has recently left London and settled in Southern England in Hampshire where his new recording studio will be completed soon. He is currently voice directing 5 animated series and acting in 4 of those.

Family, song writing, dog walking, fishing, photography, and listening to the relative silence in his new home in Hampshire continue to fill his days.
